Georgia lawmakers have stockpiled more than a half dozen anti-LGBT bills that would grant sweeping religious exemptions and allow discrimination against gay and transgender Georgians all under the guise of "protecting" religious freedom.
270+ clergy agree that religious liberty is already well-protected under the state and federal Constitutions. A major businesses have projected that Georgia could lose up to $2 billion in revenue, slashing as many as 4,000 jobs and tanking the state's reputation as a tolerant, progressive and lucrative place to live and work if these religious exemptions bills pass.
Perception is reality. It's time for Georgia to live up to its reputation as a bastion of civil rights and an inclusive and welcoming place to live and work.
